Dr.-Ing. Martin Schmidt

Martin Schmidt is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair for Spatial and Infrastructure Planning. He studied Spatial and Environmental Planning at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and focused on infrastructural services of general interest, demographic change and regional development. During a doctoral scholarship by the Hans Böckler Foundation Martin Schmidt worked in a young researcher group on urban infrastructure systems. In his dissertation he examined inter-municipal/regional cooperation in infrastructure provision by the example of German metropolitan areas. His current research interests are critical infrastructures and the interfaces between the various sectors respectively the cross-sectoral coordination of (urban) infrastructures.
